Delete your Muqarrib data or account

Last updated: 24 September 2026

This page explains how to delete your data or your whole account in the Muqarrib app (com.muqarrib.app), developed by Md. Shahidul Islam, and what happens to the data linked to it. You can do both yourself, from inside the app.

Delete your data in the app

  1. Open Settings in the app and go to Data & privacy.
  2. Tap Delete data.
  3. Tick one or more of the options below, then confirm. Deletion cannot be undone.
Delete data from the server
Erases everything synced to your account, and to every child account you manage, from our servers. It needs an internet connection; if it cannot finish, nothing else is changed, and running it again finishes the job. Guests have no data on our servers, so the option is not available to them.
Delete data from this device
Erases everything Muqarrib has stored on this device, signs you out and returns to the sign-in screen. Your data on our servers is not touched unless you also tick the option above.
Turn off data sync
Stops the app sending your data to our servers or downloading it from them. It is the same as switching off “Sync data to cloud” in Data & privacy.

Delete data keeps your sign-in, so you can sign in again with the same email address or Google account and start with an empty account. If you delete your data from the server but keep it on this device, Turn off data sync is ticked for you and cannot be unticked, so that this device does not upload its copy again.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open Settings in the app, go to Data & privacy and tap Delete account.
  2. Confirm it is you: enter your password, or sign in with Google if your account has no password.
  3. Confirm. The app deletes your data from our servers, then your sign-in account, then everything on this device, and returns to the sign-in screen.

It needs an internet connection. If the password is wrong, Google sign-in is cancelled or the connection fails, nothing is deleted. If it stops after your data was deleted, tap Delete account again to finish. Deletion cannot be undone.

Can't use the app?

  2. Use the subject “Delete my Muqarrib account” and include your username. To delete a child account you manage, include the child's username as well.
  3. We reply to confirm the request, and delete your account and its data within 30 days.

What server deletion removes

  • Everything synced to your account: salah, amaal, sadaqah and tasbeeh logs, tracker goals and memorized portions, Qur'an plans, activity logs, bookmarks and notes, dua bookmarks and their categories, hifz tests, challenges, achievements, task progress and notifications.
  • Your profile: name, username, email, phone number, country, date of birth, age, gender and account type.
  • The same data for every child account you manage, and your links to those accounts.
  • Your membership of families someone else created, along with your task completions and challenge progress there. The family and its other members' data remain.
  • Every family you created, for all of its members: its member list, tasks, challenges and progress. The app warns you about this before you confirm.

What device deletion removes

  • Everything recorded in the app on this device, including guest data.
  • Your settings, apart from the sync choice, so a sync you turned off stays off.
  • The offline copy of your synced data, and any changes still waiting to be uploaded.
  • Downloaded translations, tafsir, recitations, mus'haf pages and the recitation detection model.

What account deletion removes

Everything that server and device deletion remove, and your sign-in account as well: your email address, password and Google sign-in link. After that you can no longer sign in with it. This is the same whether you delete your account in the app or ask us by email.

What is kept

  • Delete data keeps your sign-in account — your email address and how you sign in — so you can come back to an empty account. Use Delete account to remove it.
  • Apart from that, nothing linked to your name or email is kept after deletion, unless the law requires us to keep it.
  • Copies in our service providers' routine backups may remain for a limited time until they are overwritten; they are not used for anything else.
  • Usage statistics from Firebase Analytics are tied to a random app-instance identifier, not to your account, and are deleted automatically at the end of Google Analytics' retention period.
  • Backup files you exported stay wherever you saved them; the app does not delete them. Delete them yourself.

Delete only some of your data

In the app you can delete individual plans, activity logs, tasks and bookmarks yourself, and remove downloaded content from Settings. To have other specific data deleted, email us at support@muqarrib.app and tell us what to delete.

Used the app as a guest?

Guest mode has no account, so none of your data is on our servers: it is all on your device. To remove it, use Delete data → Delete data from this device, or uninstall the app or clear its storage.
